WOOD CLUB & EVENTS

Membership, training, equipment access, and events.

Old Line Wood Club uses a layered membership and training model designed to welcome the community while maintaining a safe, professional shop environment.

Social Membership

A Social Membership is ideal for supporters, enthusiasts, and community members who want to be part of Old Line without regular shop access. Social Members receive invitations to events, open houses, demonstrations, and educational programs, along with priority access to classes and special offerings. This level focuses on connection, education, and community engagement rather than hands-on shop use.

Wood Club Membership A Wood Club Membership is for members who want active access to the workshop. This membership includes shop orientation, safety training, and the ability to earn equipment access through our badge system. Wood Club Members can work on personal projects, attend skill-building classes, and take full advantage of the shared shop once training requirements are met.

Skill Badges (Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Instructor) Badges represent verified training and proficiency-not seniority.

Basic Badge grants access to foundational tools and equipment after safety training. Intermediate Badge unlocks additional machines and more complex operations. Advanced Badge reflects high-level proficiency, expanded tool access, and advanced project capabilities. Instructor Badge is reserved for approved members qualified to teach, mentor, and lead training within the shop.

This tiered system ensures safety, accountability, and continuous skill development while giving members a clear path for growth within the Club.

Safety and responsibility come first. All members complete an initial shop orientation, followed by machine-specific training. As members demonstrate proficiency and complete required safety modules, access to additional tools and equipment is unlocked. This approach ensures a safe, productive environment for everyone while encouraging continuous learning.

No experience is required. The Wood Club welcomes members at all skill levels-from complete beginners to experienced woodworkers. Training, mentorship, and safety education are built into the membership experience, allowing members to grow confidently and responsibly at their own pace.
